On Friday, November 9, drug giant Merck & Co. said it will pay $4.85 billion to Vioxx victims if 85% of all plaintiffs in 26,600 lawsuits agree to drop their lawsuits against the firm. The agreement covers all cases against the company in both federal and state courts. It’s believed to be the largest drug settlement ever.
