Jim Adler joins KPRC’s Jennifer Reyna and Sgt. Jeffery McGowen.
Jim Adler & Associates wants to help families better understand the dangers of improper car seat use.
KPRC anchor Jennifer Reyna interviewed Jim Adler and Sgt. Jeffery McGowen of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office about a community event hosted by Safe Kids Greater Houston in partnership with Jim Adler & Associates, AAA and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Certified technicians were at Deerbrook Mall to provide free inspections for avoiding car troubles as well as free car seat inspections.
Car seat safety technicians with Safe Kids say about 90 percent of parents that come in to get their car seat checked are making some mistakes. While most are small and easily corrected, it’s important to get everything right to keep children safe in case of a crash.
Safe Kids Greater Houston, led by Texas Children’s Hospital, was established to work on a local level to prevent unintentional child injuries and deaths. The organization’s goal is to address major areas of unintentional injuries to children 14 and under in the Houston area. This is accomplished by raising awareness among adults and children, providing life-saving resources and making childhood injury a public priority.
