A Digitek digoxin lawyer can help

Pharmaceutical pills are supposed to help enhance a person's health. But sometimes they do the opposite. That's been the case with Digitek (digoxin tablets), an oral medication designed to help the heart. More specifically, this drug is used to treat conditions such as congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter (types of fast heartbeats), and heart failure that cannot be controlled through other drugs or medications.

In April of 2008, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) reported an urgent Digitek digoxin recall, which was voluntarily initiated by the drug's maker because of a manufacturing defect -- a defect which could prove fatal to patients.

If you or a loved one has suffered harm due to consumption of oral Digitek digoxin tablets, contact a Digitek digoxin lawyer with Jim S. Adler & Associates for legal assistance. The law firm offers a free case review and can investigate your case to determine whether you are entitled to just and fair financial compensation for the injury you suffered due to defective Digitek medication.

Digitek toxicity can lead to injuries, death

The medication known as Digitek (digoxin tablets) is a form of a chemical known as digitalis. Taken from the foxglove plant, digitalis has been applied as a heart medication since the 1700s and is used to increase the heartbeat's force by increasing the amount of calcium in the cells of the heart. Such medications also can be used to control irregular heart rhythms.

Yet these same medications as the result of a manufacturing defect can lead to toxicity, either via sustained use or through a single exposure. The April 2008 recall resulted when it was determined that some Digitek digoxin tablets were twice as thick as needed, containing twice the medication. Such tablets can cause Digitek toxicity, especially for patients who have kidney problems or have suffered from renal failure.

Digitek dixogin toxicity can manifest itself in a variety of ways, including dizziness, low blood pressure, nausea, vision problems, bladder/urination problems, seizures, cardiac instability, bradycardia (slow heart rate), heart palpitations and organ failure. It also can result in death.

An Adler Digitek digoxin attorney will hold the manufacturer responsible
