Digitek toxicity can lead to injuries, death

The medication known as Digitek (digoxin tablets) is a form of a chemical known as digitalis. Taken from the foxglove plant, digitalis has been applied as a heart medication since the 1700s and is used to increase the heartbeat's force by increasing the amount of calcium in the cells of the heart. Such medications also can be used to control irregular heart rhythms.
