Hit & Run Accident!!! - 2007/01/25 18:54 Okay...so yesterday I was driving down Jones Rd. and all of a sudden, a man in a blue Ford F150 crashes into my car (Honda civic) on the driver's side door. The other driver appears he's going to pull into a nearby parking lot so we can exchange information. But...it was during rush hour and the guy takes off once he reaches the parking lot (I was a few cars behind him at this point). I called the cops and told them the license plate number, but I haven't even heard back from them. My insurance company wants ME to pay for the repairs and be "reimbursed" once the police find the other driver, see if he has insurance, etc. IS THIS LEGAL?! Why should I have to pay out of pocket for a CRIME committed against me?! Please....what can I do now? My car is wrecked badly...I can't even shut the driver's side door. Any suggestions?
