Seroquel is same class of drug as Zyprexa - 2007/01/25 02:11 Were you aware that Seroquel is the same class of drug as Zyprexa and also caused type 2 diabetes? My sister took Zyprexa, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and the doctor wanted to put her on Seroquel. She asked her case manager at Mr. Adler's office about it, and was told it is the same class of drug as Zyprexa, and also causes type 2 diabetes. She talked it over with her doctor, and they came up with another drug to help her with her mental problems that did not place her in danger. Without Mr. Adler's help, heaven knows what shape she would have ended up in.

Re:Seroquel is same class of drug as Zyprexa - 2007/02/18 15:36 You are absolutely right. Seroquel has all the same side effects as zyprexa. All the new atypical anti-psychotics have these side effects. I now take abilify and haven't experienced any harmful side effects yet, but it also is one of the new drugs and can cause these things. My doctor and I keep a close eye on it. I am glad your sister found something that works for her, too. Everybody I have talked with at Jim Adler & assoc. is always very nice and very helpful. I am in Kansas, so it makes it a little harder to keep up with whats going on with my case, but I appreciate everything Jim Adler & assoc. is doing to help me.
