Eye injuries are frequent

An estimated one million eye injuries occur each year in the United States, and accidents are one of the leading causes of such injuries. Often such accidents are caused by the negligence or recklessness of an individual or an employer. In such cases, an eye injury lawyer can hold that person or employer responsible for such negligence and can ensure that an eye injury victim receives fair and just financial compensation for medical costs, lost present and future wages, and pain and suffering.

Often an eye injury can occur on the job, particularly in work such as construction. In this case, the employer may be responsible, as may be the owner of the construction site and the manager or supervisor of the construction, not to mention other construction employees. Whoever is responsible for such an eye injury may be held accountable in the legal realm for the damages caused.

Defective products can cause eye injuries

Another cause of eye injuries can be defective products, including nail guns, spray guns, table saws or power drills. Eye injuries also can occur around fireworks displays, welding jobs and exploding car batteries or chemicals. And many eye injuries can occur as a result of a traffic collision or vehicular accident.

Such injuries can require a variety of different treatments, including a corneal transplant. Others may be so severe that they cause blindness, for which major financial compensation is required for medical treatment and lost present and future wages, not to mention pain and suffering. In such cases, an Adler eye injury lawyer can pursue full economic recovery from those who are responsible for the eye injury due to their negligence or recklessness.
