Hershey denies link with tainted peanut butter from ConAgra

In response to reports claiming a ling between Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and the salmonella-contaminated peanut butter produced by ConAgra, Hershey has vigorously denied any connection.

Hershey said that it does not source any peanut butter from ConAgra whatsoever.  In fact, Hershey said, “All peanut butter used in Hershey's Reese's Peanut Butter Cups is produced by Hershey's own facilities under the highest quality assurance standards.”

A large-scale outbreak of salmonella, which has affected 300 people and has grown since August, has been traced to Peter Pan and Great Value brands of peanut butter which came from ConAgra’s production plant in Sylvester, Ga. The facility has been closed while an investigation into the cause of the outbreak continues.
