HOUSE OF TINY TREASURES

I’m for kids,” Jim Adler says frequently.
His support of the House of Tiny Treasures leaves no doubt. The day care for homeless children, from age one to age six, is a source of joy to this grandfather.

A snow party that he sponsored during the 2008 Christmas season for the toddlers and preschoolers at the day care was a huge hit. Literally!
“Frosty the Snowman,” a.k.a. Jim Adler, became a favorite target once the kids learned to throw snowballs.

For Easter 2009, Adler bought new outfits and shoes for every child at the day care. Each one left the store thrilled with the field trip and the dazzling array of clothes and shoes on display at The Children’s Place in Gulfgate Mall.

The House of Tiny Treasures is a program of SEARCH Homeless Services, a non-profit organization devoted to rebuilding the lives of the homeless. The children receive special counseling and support at the day care. Living on the streets with their parents has left them with emotional, and sometimes physical, needs beyond those of children reared in conventional environments.  Search Project
