Ray Cantu

A native of East Texas’ Piney Woods, Ray Cantu is passionate about helping injured clients get the settlement they rightfully deserve.

Having begun his career in the medical social work field, Ray says, “I became a lawyer to have a greater opportunity to help those in need.” His clients often are injured in motor vehicle accidents and the insurance adjusters use any issue to try to devalue the claims. “I use my medical background and risk management skillset to help bolster my client’s cases,” Ray says, “Reading a medical record can be tedious, but an insider’s edge helps since I am familiar with medical coding and documentation.”

An associate attorney in the firms’ Houston office of Jim Adler & Associates, Ray moved to Houston to launch his law career after earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University and graduating with honors from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.

Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, Ray is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Texas Trial Lawyers Association. Ray’s hobbies include reading, and collecting vinyl record albums.
