Contact a Motorcycle Accident Lawyer

While driving a car tends to be a necessary chore, for many people riding a motorcycle isn’t just about going from Point A to Point B. Rather, it’s a matter of wind-whipped fun.

Unfortunately, motorcycle accident statistics indicate that many people on bikes have met horrible fates on roads due to the negligence, recklessness or carelessness of others. Beyond many thousands of injuries, motorcycle accident deaths are rising in the United States, while overall traffic deaths are declining.

Contributing to the rise in motorcycle accident deaths is the high price of gasoline, which has led some to switch to gas-saving motorcycles as regular transport to the office or other destinations. This means there are more motorcycle riders on the roads. It also means more people are subject to potentially fatal motorcycle accidents.

Many victims in motorcycle accidents have not received their deserved compensation for their suffering and pain. Jim S. Adler & Associates is determined not to let that happen to you. If you have been a victim of a motorcycle accident, immediately contact an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer at Jim S. Adler & Associates to protect your rights and to file a strong lawsuit so those responsible are held accountable under the law for your medical expenses and suffering.

Motorcycle Accident Statistics – Contributing Factors

The dangers of motorcycle accidents are many. Motorcycle riders are far less protected than those inside vehicles and can receive injuries ranging from minor bruises to lethal wounds. Often such injuries can be catastrophic if not fatal, involving the brain or the spine. In many cases people also suffer from burns due to the explosion of fuel tanks.

No one can say what kind of injuries you might get from a motorcycle accident. But without doubt, you are vulnerable on a motorcycle despite the fact that you may drive carefully and follow traffic laws. That’s because other drivers often disobey traffic laws and are heedless of motorcycle riders. That means you may become a victim in a motorcycle accident despite your best intentions, and because too many others are negligent and reckless on America’s roads.

Negligent driving by others causes great harm to many motorcycle drivers. If a high speed car or SUV crashes into a motorcycle, it has the potential to take the lives of those riding on the motorcycle. Besides negligent or drunk drivers, motorcycle riders also must be wary of defective roads, which can cause many accidents. Roads built with very sharp or tight turns are risky for motorcyclists. Also dangerous are roads without proper signs regarding speed breakers or other dangers ahead, including potholes. A pothole may not be a big enough obstacle to menace a car or SUV, but a motorcycle rider might be thrown off of his or her vehicle in such a case.

When a motorcycle accident is caused by defective roads, the roads’ construction company may be at fault and held responsible for its negligence. In such a case an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer can help you to file a lawsuit against the construction company.

Motorcycle death rate rises on roads

Motorcycles can be loud -- if not ear-splitting -- yet car drivers don’t see them as clearly as they hear them. That’s one reason motorcyclists have a high death rate on America’s roads. They account for only 2 per cent of all vehicles but 10 per cent of all fatalities.

Motorcycle rider wins $1.3 millionTitan Phoenix ZRM

The rider in this case had a motorcycle that was subject to a national recall he didn’t know about. The New York man won his lawsuit against the motorcycle company seven years ago but the verdict was overturned. This October, a second jury ruled in his favor although he admitted he was speeding at the time of the accident. The rider lost control of his Titan Phoenix ZRM motorcycle on a curve on August 19, 2000. A month after the accident, he learned of the recall. Evidence in the case showed that the wheel was not properly connected to the fork.
