Yaz, Yasmin, Ocella defective drugs cause heart attacks, blood clots, strokes — even death
Statistically, young women are among the least likely persons to have high blood pressure, heart attacks, blood clots, strokes and other cardiovascular ailments. Yet many American women are suffering in these ways — and even dying. That’s because they are users of one of three defective drugs sold as birth control pills: Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella.
Fortunately, these three brands are the only oral contraceptives which share the drug DRSP, or drospirenone. That drug has been known to cause serious health problems in the heart and kidneys, and also to cause breast lumps, numbness, depression, confusion, vision problems, migraine headaches and pulmonary embolism.
Victims have a right to seek full and fair financial compensation for their setbacks, including pain and suffering, medical bills and lost present or future wages.
Such economic recovery may come via a defective drugs lawsuit pressed by an experienced personal injury lawyer or attorney such as those at Jim S. Adler & Associates. The longtime Texas law firm has been standing up for victims’ rights in the legal arena for more than 35 years.
A Yaz or Yasmin lawsuit can be brought against Bayer, its manufacturer. Ocella is a generic brand of the drug.
In each drug’s case, its only purpose is to prevent pregnancy. Yet Bayer has come under attack for falsely claiming the drug does more — in order to sell more prescriptions of it. Indeed, Bayer has been the subject of complaints by the Food and Drug Administration and the attorneys general of 27 states for overstating the efficacy of Yaz and Yasmin in TV commercials and ads.
These have suggested the drugs also would help ease PMS (premenstrual syndrome), PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) and mild cases of acne. That was not the case in reality, and Bayer had to produce further advertising to counter its false claims.
Beyond holding manufacturers accountable for their negligence, it’s important to make women aware of more warning signs and harmful defective drug symptoms for those using Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella. These include severe headaches, sudden dizziness, fainting, coughing up blood, weakness confined to one side of the body, sudden shortness of breath, slurred speech and vision problems, as well as numbness, tingling or weakness in the legs or arms.
Of course, more severe side effects such as blood clots, heart attacks and strokes also can indicate an adverse reaction to defective drugs Yaz, Yasmin and Ocella.
Willful negligence at the service of profits — and at the expense of the health of American women — shall not stand. Rather, a Yaz, Yasmin or Ocella lawyer or attorney with Jim S. Adler & Associates can turn the tables via a defective drugs lawsuit against negligent pharmaceutical manufacturers.
