Accutane side effects litany hits prime-time TV in ‘Glee’

by Bruce Westbrook

For years, millions of Americans took Accutane as a means to fight severe acne. Though this medication was effective as an acne treatment, it also backfired. Now many Americans face Accutane injuries, including severe gastrointestinal ailments such as UC, or Ulcerative Colitis, and Crohn’s Disease.

Accutane also has been known to cause depression and suicidal impulses in some users, as well as birth defects in the infants of women who were pregnant while using Accutane.

The defective drug’s maladies have become so widespread that they were acknowledged recently on hit Fox TV show Glee. In it, the character of high school cheerleader coach Sue Sylvester, played by Jane Lynch, spoke of Accutane causing hearing loss. Hearing loss, in fact, is another Accutane side effect, along with ringing in the ears.

With so many Accutane ailments, Americans need a means to redress their Accutane injury or illness. And they have one: an Accutane lawsuit. Such legal action can seek financial compensation from the manufacturers whose negligence harmed innocent Americans.

While Accutane itself has been pulled from the market by manufacturer Hoffman-La Roche, generic versions remain available, marketed under such names as Sotret, Claravis and Amnesteem.

Like Accutane, each has an active ingredient called Isotretinoin. This potent drug can reduce acne, but also has been found to cause serious side effects, including inflammatory bowel diseases and even strokes and seizures.

Though Isotretinoin — a powerful drug — may ease acne, it also can cause such side effects as suicidal impulses, strokes and seizures, as well as inflammatory bowel disease. Such Accutane side effects injuries are why the Food and Drug Administration placed a dire black box warning on Accutane.

If you or a loved one has suffered IBD, Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis after taking Accutane, alert a defective drugs lawyer with Jim S. Adler & Associates. The law firm offers a free case review so you can assess your Accutane lawsuit prospects via a legal professional at no cost to you.

Don’t let this blemish on your life remain unchallenged. Having used a defective drug to clear up acne, you may have a means of clearing up your  losses from an Accutane side effects injury.
