Jim Adler | The Tough, Smart Lawyer
Attorney Attorney Drew Bias

For Drew Bias, being a lawyer is a family tradition. His grandfather and great-grandfather both were lawyers, whose Bias & Bias law firm opened long before he was born. “Stories from my father inspired me to become a lawyer,” Drew says, as did being a fan of TV’s Matlock while growing up.

Now an attorney for the Dallas office of Jim Adler & Associates, Drew helps secure pre-litigation settlements for clients in need. He is “passionate” about tackling areas of law that are most difficult to navigate and then providing the best opportunities for clients.

“I am easy-going and empathetic, so I’m good at connecting with clients, making them feel heard and representing them to the fullest,” Drew says. “I’m also good at breaking down statutes and legal theories into concepts that are easy for clients to understand.”

Many clients had found themselves “alone and pitted against an insurance company with thousands of employees. They sometimes faced coverage or liability determinations being made unilaterally in the insurance company’s favor. I make sure our clients have someone in their corner against the insurance companies.”

Born in raised in Austin, Drew earned an undergraduate degree in English and a master’s degree in sports management from Baylor University. There, he was a four-year letterman in baseball and played in the 2005 College World Series.

Drew received his law degree from Texas Tech University in 2013. He is now a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association and Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.

Married in 2015 to Emily, an elementary school teacher in Frisco ISD, Drew enjoys playing golf, and he and his wife enjoy watching movies and cooking. They attend Hunters Glen Baptist Church.

Drew’s favorite law quote comes from Greek philosopher Aristotle, who wrote: “Law is reason, free from passion.”

“While it’s good to be passionate about things, misguided passion is often wasted effort,” says Drew. He finds cases the most rewarding “when I can provide the most benefit and help our clients in need.”
