As a pre-litigation attorney in Jim Adler & Associates’ Houston office, Lauryn Raymond gets to do something she loves: help people in need.
“With personal injury law, I get to work with people going through stressful situations, and it feels good to be able to help them through it,” Lauryn says.
While growing up near Houston in Missouri City, Lauryn’s father, a lawyer, “always told me I had the problem-solving skills for law.” Then, after working for one year in legal malpractice insurance and speaking with attorneys across the country, “a lot of them inspired me to go to law school.”
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2012. Lauryn then earned her Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston in 2016. She’s been a member of the State Bar of Texas since November 2016.
Her desire to help others via legal work began in law school. “I became very passionate then about immigration law,” Lauryn says. “I worked in one of the Randall O. Sorrels Legal Clinics, and it was the most practical experience I gained while in law school.
“I assisted two clients: one with their asylum and the other with her human trafficking case. I knew then that I would always want to work with people and help them through their most difficult and traumatic times. Personal injury law is very similar.”
Lauryn appreciates that working in personal injury law “allows you to help people every day, and it presents new challenges every day. No two cases are alike, and there’s always a new problem to solve.”
