Andy Wilbur

Paul Andrew (Andy) Wilbur Jr. is one of the senior attorneys at Jim Adler & Associates, having served the firm for more than 20 years. A pre-litigation attorney, Andy gains payments for clients by settling cases with the insurance companies involved.

He has an insider’s view of the process, having begun his career by working eight years as a multi-lines claims adjuster for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Dallas, Houston and Las Vegas.

“That gave me valuable experience in how claims departments operate,” Andy says.

After his work as an insurance adjuster, Andy enrolled in South Texas College of Law, where he earned his law degree in 1995. (He’d earlier earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.) He then joined Jim Adler & Associates, where he has settled thousands of cases.

His knowledge from working as an insurance adjuster helps him to minimize the frustration of injured victims and maximize recovery for them and their families.

“I know what’s important from insurance companies’ perspective — what information they need to evaluate a case and get it settled,” Andy says. “It’s bottom line for them, so it helps to make their job easier. I seem able to move my cases without getting crossways with adjusters.”

Andy principally settles injury cases involving cars, trucks and motorcycles, working with his own team of case managers.

“We try to resolve cases within the first year,” he said, noting a two-year statute of limitations in Texas for such matters.

He finds it most rewarding “to help people who really need help — especially people who are grateful. The best case is one you end not just with a handshake, but with a hug.”

Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, Andy is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the South Texas Law Review and, in law school, The Order of the Lytae. He also was on the Dean’s List.

In his spare time, Andy likes to play golf and enjoy vintage cars, such as a Corvette and an Impala convertible from the mid-1960s.
