Baby Powder Cancer Lawsuits are winning

Talcum powder cancer lawsuits are winning in America’s courts. Women who have suffered ovarian cancer after prolonged use of baby powder or talcum powder for their personal hygiene have won up to $72 million in baby powder jury verdicts.

That amount was awarded in the latest talcum powder lawsuit to be resolved, in early 2016.

If someone in your family has had ovarian cancer after using Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder or Shower to Shower products, notify our law firm immediately.

Jim Adler & Associates can provide you with an experienced and knowledgeable ovarian cancer lawyer to handle your case — and to fight for your rights to payments for your losses, including medical expenses, lost salary and pain and suffering.

History of Ovarian Cancer Lawsuits

The history of lawsuits for ovarian cancer victims who used talcum powder shows clear signs of trending toward favorable verdicts. These talcum powder and ovarian cancer lawsuits include the following:

  • The first such baby powder lawsuit verdict came in 2013, when Deane Berg of South Dakota sued Johnson & Johnson after decades of using its Baby Powder for personal hygiene contributed to her ovarian cancer. A federal court jury determined that Johnson & Johnson should have alerted users of its products about this danger. Even the defendant’s lawyer admitted that Johnson & Johnson executives had been aware of a connection between such products and ovarian cancer, but deemed the danger insufficiently significant to alert their customers.
  • In 2014, two ongoing class-action lawsuits were filed against Johnson & Johnson. Each of these grouped class-action lawsuits maintain that the pharmaceutical company is liable for ovarian cancer suffered by women who used its big-selling Shower to Shower or Baby Powder products.
  • In late February, 2016, a lawsuit by the family of Jacqueline Fox of Alabama prevailed when a jury held that her fatal ovarian cancer was due to prolonged use of Shower to Shower and Baby Powder products made and sold by Johnson & Johnson. That jury awarded $72 million in damages to Fox’s survivors, finding Johnson & Johnson liable for negligence, fraud and conspiracy in manufacturing, promoting and selling its defective products to women.

Alternative Legal Actions

Besides class-action lawsuits and individual lawsuits, alternative legal actions include what is known as multi-district litigation, or MDL. That means each case is assessed on its own particular merits, and each plaintiff can claim compensation based upon their amount of costs and their degree of suffering.

Jim Adler & Associates can provide you with an ovarian cancer lawyer to handle your case individually, rather than as a class-action case or as part of multi-district litigation. Your knowledgeable talcum powder lawsuit attorney can work for you, seeking payments for your individual pain, suffering, healthcare costs and lost present and future wages.
