ATTORNEY

Garrett Mize

Garrett Mize believes the law should help people who need it most. As an attorney at Jim Adler & Associates’ Dallas office, he is proud to seek justice for those who have been injured due to others’ negligence, applying a dogged work ethic and analytical approach to give clients an advantage in tough cases.

“I work aggressively to hold big insurance companies accountable and ensure that individuals and corporations who harm others are held responsible,” Garrett says.

As for clients, “I welcome them to the firm and want them to feel comfortable, from the moment they call us or come into our office until the resolution of their case.”

After earning a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin, Garrett worked for several years for a public policy organization in Austin. He promoted legislation at local, state and national levels to strengthen public education and defend civil liberties.

After seeing first-hand the power which law can have in people’s lives, Garrett decided to become a lawyer.

He earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law-Houston, where he was named to the Dean’s List, won awards for the highest grades in several legal categories and was Chair of the Board of Advocates, one of the nation’s top-ranked advocacy programs. He competed in mock trial and moot court competitions and was published by the South Texas Law Review, where he served as an assistant editor.

Before joining Jim Adler & Associates, Garrett worked as an attorney and law clerk at other personal injury firms, and also worked for the Court of Appeals for the First District of Texas. He has trial experience and has helped to resolve many cases successfully, focusing on car and 18-wheeler crashes, as well as other matters involving personal injury.

Born in Dallas and raised in Garland, Garrett is passionate about his community and fighting for injured people in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and across North Texas.

“Representing hard-working, honest people is what I enjoy most about the practice of law,” he says. “When you’ve been injured, it can feel like the system is stacked against you. I take pride in standing with regular folks who need someone in their corner.”

Admitted to practice law in all Texas courts and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas, Garrett is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, Texas Trial Lawyers Association and Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.

Garrett lives in Dallas with his wife, Andrea, an architect. When not practicing law, he serves on the board of directors of a national non-profit which promotes young people’s health and rights.
