Attorney Jason Powers is a fierce advocate for clients of Jim Adler & Associates. Passionate about litigation, Jason loves to “pick juries and be in the courtroom. I also love the feeling of winning a case and getting a client the best possible outcome.
“I am a passionate, fearless advocate for my clients,” Jason says. “I do not hesitate to take a case to trial. I do not hesitate to fight for everything my clients deserve.”
He does so as a soft tissue litigator for clients injured by someone else’s fault. If a case cannot be settled by out-of-court negotiation, “it comes to me, and I handle the case through trial, if necessary.”
Jason set out on that road when a graduate professor encouraged him to consider law school. He then earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, having earned an undergraduate degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and an MBA from Millsaps College, also in Mississippi.
Born in Memphis, TN, Jason was raised in Independence, MS, by his mother, a homemaker, and his father, a maintenance supervisor in a metal fabricating plant.
The father of four girls and a boy, Jason is Legislative Chair for the PTA for Shadow Forest Elementary School in Kingwood. An avid fisherman, he enjoys traveling, running and CrossFit training. He’s also a member of the State Bar of Texas (since 2000) and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Law & Politics Media named Jason a Texas Super Lawyer “Rising Star” in 2008. H Magazine named Jason one of Houston’s Top Lawyers for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2013; one of Houston’s Best Lawyers Under 40 in 2007 and 2008; and a Super Lawyer in 2005.
Inspired by legal movies such as A Civil Action and legal TV series such as Boston Legal, Jason is a firm believer in the jury system. He especially enjoys handling cases which, when resolved, make a life changing-difference in his clients’ lives.
“Clients come to us when they are at a point in their lives that is too difficult for them to handle alone,” he says. “We are here to guide them, fight for them and take the worry out of their situation.
“I enjoy the litigation aspect of what I do. I also enjoy seeing that I can make a real difference in my client’s lives.”
