Jim Adler & Associates is passionate about giving back to our community and our Hammer Helps program does just that! While our law firm has been involved in charitable giving for decades, our official Hammer Helps program was developed in 2021 to further assist those in need.
During the 2021 winter freeze, Houston-based nonprofit Kids’ Meals—which fights childhood hunger by delivering free, healthy meals—lost power and was forced to discard all the food in their fridge and freezer.
We quickly took to social media to raise awareness and pledged a donation of our own. The outpouring of support was so inspiring that it led to something bigger—the birth of our Hammer Helps program to continue supporting our community.
Since 2021, Hammer Helps has supported over 20 organizations and donated more than $175,000 to nonprofits.
From special needs programs and cancer care to animal shelters, food banks, and children’s centers—we’re just getting started.

We’re proud to support Kinetic Kids, a San Antonio based nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of children with special needs. Through adaptive sports, fine arts, and educational programs, Kinetic Kids creates inclusive opportunities that foster courage, confidence, fitness, pride, joy, and community for children with intellectual and physical challenges. Our firm was inspired to donate because we believe every child deserves a chance to play, grow, and connect with others.
We are proud to have donated to Lily’s Toy Box, founded by Lily DuBose, at just eight years old. After Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Lily donated her own toys to children who had flooded. Lily’s Toy Box has grown and now has donated over 100,000 toys to children in need. Lily’s commitment inspires us and highlights the importance of spreading smiles in our community. Every child deserves a moment of joy, and we are thrilled to support this mission.
In November, we helped Texans who receive SNAP benefits. When the government shutdown, we donated to Dallas area food pantries, which provided thousands of meals for those in need.
ThriveWell Cancer Foundation is a San Antonio based nonprofit dedicated to supporting cancer patients. The organization provides direct financial support to help patients afford treatment, funds innovative cancer research, and offers free fitness and nutrition programs that promote healing and recovery. We were inspired to contribute to ThriveWell’s mission because of their compassionate, hands-on approach to improving the lives of local patients and their families.
Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. These wishes help bring joy, hope, and strength to families during some of their most difficult times, turning dreams into reality and creating lasting memories. Supporting their mission was deeply meaningful to us, as it allowed us to play a small role in bringing comfort and happiness to children and families in our community.
In July, we recognized five remarkable veterans for their selfless service and continued impact on their communities. From military roles in aviation logistics and combat leadership to careers in law enforcement and veteran support, each honoree exemplified courage, dedication, and resilience. As a gesture of our gratitude, we gave each veteran a $1,000 gift card to honor their service and sacrifice. It was our privilege to shine a spotlight on their stories and express our heartfelt thanks for all they have done, both in uniform and beyond.
We handed out over 2,300 backpacks to help Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio children start the school year off on the right foot.
For June’s Hammer Helps, we donated to the DFW Humane Society to help them purchase a much-needed microscope. This tool will improve their ability to diagnose and treat animals in need.
We’re proud to support an organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for abused, neglected, and homeless animals across DFW.
Teresa Champion Dance Academy (TCDA) has shared the beauty of Flamenco and Mexican Folklorico with San Antonio for over 40 years. Founded by local icon Teresa Champion, TCDA offers scholarships so every child has the chance to dance—regardless of income.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we proudly support this inspiring organization and its mission to preserve San Antonio’s rich cultural legacy for future generations.
Art in the Heart is a Houston-based non-profit making art accessible to underserved communities.
Founder Roni Cabrera Moreno, raised in the Eastex Jensen area, created the program to offer the safe, expressive space she once lacked. Through mobile studios, workshops, and camps, Art in the Heart inspires creativity, supports local artists, and builds community across generations.
