Our Channelview office is located just off Interstate 10 (I-10) and Federal Road, on the city’s east side.

There you’ll find the help you need not only for car accident cases, but also injuries involving the workplace.

As for traffic accidents, many involve 18-wheelers, also called big rigs, semi trucks, tractor trailers or diesel trucks. Such 18-wheeler accidents can be catastrophic, often severely injuring if not killing the occupants of far smaller cars.

Though many state traffic laws are the same from city to city, each city also has its own laws governing traffic, such as varied speed limits depending on the thoroughfare.

In 2017, Gov. Greg Abbott signed into law a bill that created a statewide ban on texting while driving. The ban treats texting and driving as a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of $25-99 for first-time offenders, and $100-200 for repeat offenders.

Houston stands out in many other ways, though. Home to many oil companies and refineries, it is the Energy Capital of the World. It’s also home to the Johnson Space Center and NASA’s Mission Control, as well as the Texas Medical Center — the world’s largest — and Port of Houston, the nation’s busiest in terms of foreign tonnage and second-busiest overall.

Major Freeways In Houston

Houston’s 10-county metro area has 575 miles of expressways and freeways. These include:

  • Interstate 45 (I-45), also known as the Gulf Freeway, heading south, and the North Freeway, heading north
  • Interstate 10 (I-10), also known as the East Freeway heading east toward Baytown and as the Katy Freeway heading west toward San Antonio
  • Texas 59, also known as the Southwest Freeway as it connects downtown and Sugar Land
  • Texas 288, extending south to Freeport
  • US 290, heading northwest to Austin
  • Loop 610, encircling the inner city
  • Beltway 8, encircling the outer suburbs

Interesting Facts About Houston

The nation’s Space City, Houston always is pushing to the future, including its growth. It’s now the most ethnically diverse city in America, offering world-class restaurants and art venues, as well as major league sports in football, baseball, basketball and soccer.

Though some older landmarks have fallen, others remain, including — for the time being — the world’s first domed stadium, the Astrodome. And in honor of its hometown president, “Bush 41,” Houston’s biggest airport (exceeding Hobby Airport) is named George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The insurance company was being extremely difficult and vague with me when I tried to file the car accident claim, downplaying the damage to my vehicle and the injuries to me. I told them to talk to my lawyer! I called Jim Adler and they gave me more insight and help than I thought was possible. They did a great job!
