Robert Marroquin

Robert Marroquin was inspired to become a lawyer by the work of Thurgood Marshall and the NAACP in ending segregation in public schools. “My parents attended segregated schools as children, so the fight to end that unjust practice had a direct impact on my life,” he says.

Now Robert fights for the clients of Jim Adler & Associates as an attorney in the firm’s San Antonio office, where he helps them navigate the complex waters of auto insurance liability.

“It’s not so much the legal issues they face but more practical problems, like how they can get reimbursed for lost time from work, or how they can get the medical care they need when they don’t have health insurance.”

Robert is passionate about “areas of law where I get to argue for a plaintiff who has no other means of obtaining justice. I get no joy defending faceless corporations.”

Having also practiced criminal law, family law, disability law and worker’s compensation, in addition to personal injury cases, Robert is always ready for new challenges. “No matter how much I know about a particular field, there’s always a case that will present a new challenge. Those are typically the most rewarding.”

He ardently believes in justice, citing Martin Luther King Jr.’s statement that “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

“That’s a reminder of why lawyers do what we do,” says Robert, who is bilingual. “We attempt to make the world a better place so we all may benefit.”

Born in McAllen and raised in Mercedes, Texas, Robert earned a Bachelor of Journalism degree at the University of Texas at Austin in 1998 and a juris doctor at St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio in 2008. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.

Married, with one daughter and a dog, Robert and his family enjoy jogging, hiking and barbecue excursions in Central Texas. He also volunteers at Night in Old San Antonio for Fiesta and the Texas Folklife Festival.
